Abstraction

I enjoy experimenting with different techniques and artist materials.  Someone gave me some oil bars and I used them to enliven a few of my large acrylic paintings

Whilst Paul Klee talks of taking a line for a walk, I take mine for a dance.  In one series I “drew” by pouring a fine stream of ink over a large sheet of paper and then tried something similar but on canvas with liquid acrylic.  I was delighted to find that the effect was quite different.

Often when using acrylic paints I find I have more on my palette than I need and once out of the tube the paints dry too quickly to save.  Rather than wastefully throwing the excess away I daub it at random on another canvas.  Over time I find I have created a new work that may be entirely abstract or may suggest a stylised landscape.
